If you’re in pain, injured, or just not feeling right, it can affect everything. Getting up, going to work, playing with your kids, it all becomes harder. That’s where I come in. My name’s Peter, and I run a small, friendly physiotherapy clinic in Glasgow. It’s just me here, so when you book an appointment, you’ll be seeing the same person every time.
Let me explain to you everything you need to know about private physiotherapy, what I offer at my clinic, and how I help people get back to feeling like themselves again. I’ll keep it clear and simple, no complicated words or medical talk.
What is Private Physiotherapy?
Private physiotherapy means you don’t need to wait weeks or months for help. You book when it suits you, and you get more time and attention in each session. You also get a plan that’s made just for you.
When people come to me, they usually want one thing, to feel better. They’ve had pain for a while or maybe a new injury, and they’re ready to do something about it. That’s what physiotherapy is for. I help with pain, stiffness, weakness, or any movement problems. Whether you hurt your back lifting something, twisted your ankle playing football, or you’re just stiff from sitting too much, I can help.
A lot of my clients tell me they wish they’d come sooner. They didn’t know how much better they could feel after just a few sessions.
Why People Choose Private Physio Over NHS
Let’s be real. The NHS is great, but the wait times can be long. Sometimes people wait months just to be seen and when they do get an appointment, it might only last 15 minutes. That’s not enough time to really look at the issue or get to the root of it.
When you come to my clinic, I take my time. The first session is usually around 45 minutes to an hour. I ask questions, I check how you move, and I explain everything clearly. I won’t rush you. I want you to understand what’s wrong and how we’re going to fix it.
Here’s what private physiotherapy means at my clinic:
- Quick Appointments: Usually within a couple of days.
- Same Person Every Time: You’ll always see me.
- Longer Sessions: More time to talk and treat properly.
- Personal Treatment Plan: Just for you, not copied from a book.
- Easy Booking System: No hassle, just a few clicks.
- 20+ Years of Experience: You’re in safe, expert hands.
- Affordable Session Prices: High-quality care that won’t cost the earth.
I care about helping you get back to your normal life, whether that’s going for walks, working pain-free, or playing your favourite sport.
Who I Help and What I Treat
I see all kinds of people. Young, old, active, not-so-active… it doesn’t matter. If something hurts or isn’t moving right, I’ll do my best to help.
Here are some of the common problems I treat:
Back Pain and Neck Pain
These are probably the most common issues I see. A sore back or neck can stop you from sleeping, driving, or even sitting comfortably. It often comes from poor posture, stress, lifting badly, or sitting too long at a desk. I help by loosening tight muscles, improving posture, and giving you exercises that work.
Sports Injuries
If you’ve hurt yourself playing football, running, cycling, or at the gym, I can help you recover and get back to your sport. This includes things like sprains, pulled muscles, or joint pain. I also help prevent the same injury from happening again.
Shoulder, Elbow, and Knee Pain
Shoulder problems like frozen shoulder or rotator cuff pain can make it hard to lift your arm or even get dressed. I also treat elbow issues like tennis elbow, and knee pain from running or arthritis. I use hands-on treatment and simple exercises to reduce pain and build strength.
Post-Surgery Recovery
After surgery like a knee replacement, back operation, or shoulder repair. You need the right rehab to get strong again. I guide you through every step. We take it slow and safe, but also push when it’s time to move forward.
Ongoing Aches and Stiffness
Some people haven’t had an injury, but they feel stiff, tired, or sore all the time. This can come from sitting too much, not moving enough, or just life in general. I work with you to loosen things up, move better, and feel more comfortable in your body.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
If you’ve never been to private physio before, don’t worry. It’s nothing to be nervous about. I’ll talk you through everything.
Here’s what usually happens in the first session:
- We Talk – I’ll ask about your pain, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and how it affects your day.
- I Check How You Move – I’ll look at your posture, how you walk, bend, twist, or lift. I might ask you to try a few simple movements.
- We Start Treatment – If there’s time (and there usually is), we’ll start treatment straight away. That might be hands-on work like massage or joint mobilizations, or exercises.
- I Give You a Plan – I’ll tell you what I think is going on, how we’re going to fix it, and what to do at home.
How to Book an Appointment
Booking with me is easy. You’ve got two options:
- Online – Go to booking page. Choose a time that suits you, and you’re all set.
- By Phone or Text – Call or message me on 07900 577659. I’ll get back to you quickly and help you book.
I also take bookings by email if that’s easier: contact@petersphysiotherapy.co.uk
I try to be as flexible as I can, and I’ll always do my best to find a time that works for you, even if it’s outside regular hours.
Private Physiotherapy Clinic Glasgow
My private Physiotherapy clinic is based in the east end of Glasgow at 6 Balveny Drive, G33 5BY. It’s a quiet, friendly area that’s easy to get to, whether you’re driving or taking the bus.
What Happens After Your Session
Getting better isn’t just about one appointment. It’s a process. But don’t worry, I’ll guide you through it.
Follow-Up Sessions
Most people need more than one session to fully recover. That’s normal. We’ll space the sessions out depending on your progress. Some people come once a week, others every two weeks. I’ll tell you what’s best for your case.
Each time you come in, I’ll check how you’re doing, treat what requires attention, and adjust your plan. We build on your progress so you keep moving forward.
Support Between Sessions
I don’t just treat you and send you away. I stay in touch. If you’re not sure about something, you can message or call me. I’ll give you advice and keep you on track. Sometimes people just require a quick check-in or a reminder to keep doing their exercises, and that’s okay.
Keeping You Strong
Even after your pain goes away, I help you stay strong and prevent it from coming back. That’s where the real win is. You don’t just get out of pain, you stay out of pain.
Home Tips and Simple Exercises
Between sessions, I give you easy exercises you can do at home. You don’t need fancy equipment or a gym. Just a bit of space and a few minutes a day.
Stretching and Mobility
I’ll show you how to stretch tight areas, move better, and feel more flexible. These are often small movements but they make a big impact.
Strength Work
Weak muscles can lead to injury. I give you safe, simple ways to build strength, especially in areas like your back, legs, or shoulders.
Everyday Advice
I’ll also help with small changes to how you sit, stand, sleep, or lift things. These little habits make a big difference over time.
Clients often say they feel better just from knowing what not to do any more!
